This Commonwealth agency is leading a major national program that will strengthen Australia’s communications resilience in times of crisis. The program was established following a series of large-scale natural disasters, with the goal of improving preparedness, emergency response, and community safety across the country.
Working in close partnership with other agencies and major telecommunications suppliers, the team is building new capability that will allow rapid communication with communities during emergency and disaster events. The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Administration Officer to provide project support and administration support to three Contract Managers delivering a high-profile program.
This role will be instrumental is ensuring successful and timely outcomes, coordinating governance activities, and ensuring project milestones are met. This program is key to ensuring better preparedness to Australian communities during disaster events and will have tangible impact.
The RoleAs a Senior Administration Officer, you will:
- Assist in contract management and administration through activities such as processing invoices, monitoring delivery, and controlling and providing quality assurance for products submitted under contract
- Assist project management outcomes regarding scheduling, timelines, project planning, risk management, lessons learned log and project status reporting.
- Administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, recording minutes and action items, assisting with project governance, inbox management and effective records management
- Arrange and coordinate stakeholder meetings including coordinating design workshops
- Assist with the recording of meeting minutes, track decisions and action items and follow up on outstanding actions in addition to general project governance work
The Ideal Person
The successful candidate will bring:
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-profile environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders across government, industry, and the community
- Sound judgment and strategic thinking, able to interpret complex information and provide clear advice
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Experience in contract management, grants administration, or project governance will be highly regarded
Please note, Australian citizenship and a Baseline Security Clearance is mandatory for these roles.
Salary / Rate
- $55/hr – $65/hr + 12% Super
- Labour hire contract until June 2026, with two short-term extensions
- WFH available, hybrid model
- Canberra-based in a central location
