About the Roles
We are seeking motivated and community-minded individuals to join our small but dedicated People Branch team. You’ll deliver end-to-end recruitment services across all areas of the organisation, including our hostels, and play a key role in shaping our workplace during an exciting time of transformation as we move towards a new e-recruitment solution.
APS5 People Branch Officer
As an APS5 People Branch Officer, you’ll coordinate the full recruitment and onboarding process, from vacancy assessment and advertising to selection, candidate tracking, pre-employment checks, and contract preparation. You’ll provide timely, accurate, and culturally responsive recruitment advice, ensuring a positive candidate experience and compliance with APS merit-based selection principles. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in recruitment panels, support continuous improvement, and contribute to reporting and process development.
APS4 Branch Support Officer
As an APS4 Branch Support Officer, you’ll focus on the administration and support of recruitment and onboarding activities. You’ll assist with recruitment panels, onboarding, maintaining personnel files, issuing employment documentation, and updating recruitment materials. You’ll provide professional and timely support to candidates and stakeholders, and help ensure a fair, inclusive, and culturally safe recruitment experience.
Our Ideal Candidates
We’re looking for candidates with experience in HR and/or recruitment, preferably in the APS, local government, or similar sectors. You’ll be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage a wide range of administrative and operational tasks. Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills are essential. A sound understanding of recruitment-related legislation, including the Public Service Act and merit-based selection, is highly regarded.
