The Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is seeking applications for APS3 Tribunal Services Officers across all of our state CBD locations, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth, to support the User Services section.
These positions are available primarily on a full-time on-going basis however non-ongoing can also be considered.
Flexible working arrangements will be available after an initial period of training. During training fulltime, onsite attendance will be required.
Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is APS3 $71,720 - $74,460 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.

About the opportunity:
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a passion for providing excellent customer service!
Working under direction of the Team Leader, as part of a medium sized team, Tribunal Services Officers undertake case-related support administrative and hearing support to Tribunal members, and provide client service to the Tribunal review parties.
This role requires you to work at a counter open to the general public, undertaking a broad range of front-line and administrative duties. As one of the main points of contact for users to interact with the Tribunal the role can be very busy and fast paced, juggling a high number of incoming calls whilst wearing a headset and dealing with face to face enquiries
Tribunal Services Officers also support a high volume of daily hearings across multiple formats including in-person, virtual and via telephone. This function of the role does require moving between hearing rooms, which can be located on different floors, in a reasonable timeframe to facilitate delivery of our services as scheduled.
Hearing related duties also include elements of public speaking in small group settings (3 or more) such as to announce hearings, swear in parties, and using hearing room technology in order to contact parties and record Tribunal proceedings. Further duties include being responsible for setting up and clearing the hearing rooms e.g. setting up recording equipment and ensuring the room is stocked with required items, troubleshooting technology related issues and accurately recording post hearing data in Tribunal case management systems.
In addition to the above Tribunal Services Officers are also required to manage different mailboxes actioning a high volume of emails using search related tools across different case management systems.
About you:
To be successful you will:
- have the ability to acquire and maintain a general working knowledge of the Tribunal’s functions, policies and procedures and apply this knowledge in undertaking case-related functions.
- have the ability to be able to provide quality service delivery to internal and external stakeholders
- possess good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders
- be able to plan, organise and monitor work priorities, meet deadlines and to keep and maintain accurate records
- possess the ability to work independently, develop productive working relationships and work collaboratively in a team environment.

About Administrative Appeals Tribunal
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) conducts independent merits review of administrative decisions made under Commonwealth laws. We review decisions made by Australian Government ministers, departments and agencies and, in limited circumstances, decisions made by state government and non-government bodies. We also review decisions made under Norfolk Island laws.
The AAT was established by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1975 and commenced operations on 1 July 1976.
On 1 July 2015 the Migration Review Tribunal, Refugee Review Tribunal and Social Security Appeals Tribunal were merged with the AAT.
