About the role

Biodiversity Australia is seeking an experienced Business Manager for one of our Environmental Units, based within the Southeast Queensland region. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Business Unit and overseeing projects within SEQ for Natural Areas.

The successful applicant will have experience in business management within the Vegetation Management, Environmental and/or Construction industry. It would be considered an advantage if you have experience working within the environmental sector, but not essential.

The position requires exceptional client engagement skills including business development as well as team management with a focus on quality of works and project delivery. Understanding of budgets and tender submissions along with reporting to Senior Management outlining financial and non-financial performance is also a significant part of the general management of the Unit.

Those who have min 3-5yrs experience managing multiple projects including budgets, quality control and team culture are likely to be a strong candidate for this role.

About you

To be successful in the role of Business Manager, you will meet the following criteria:

Ideally have an Environmental management experience, however this is not essential

Operationally / Business minded

Proven Project Management skills

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capability

Experience with maintaining and building client relationships, including networking and driving business development opportunities

Strong Leadership qualities that contribute to a positive team culture

Understanding and developing tender submissions

Experience in coordinating staff (rostering/ performance etc)

Understanding, maintaining and reporting on budgets for your unit

Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

You must possess the following credentials:

Construction industry safety induction card (White Card)

Driver's licence

Appropriate tertiary or accreditation in Business, Project Management or a relevant field.

The remuneration for this role is negotiable and will be based on proven skillset and experience.
