Leading Hand Carpenter Wanted!

We’re on the lookout for a skilled and reliable Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team! You’ll take charge of building small second dwellings and extensions ranging from 30m² to 100m². From subfloor to handover, you’ll be involved in all aspects of the build, ensuring quality craftsmanship and leading your team to success.

The Role:
As a Leading Hand Carpenter, you will:

Lead and mentor a team of apprentices, making sure tasks are completed efficiently and to spec.

Oversee the full build process, including framing, cladding, decking, fix-outs, and final handover.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, each typically taking around 12 weeks to complete.

Liaise with clients and other trades under the site supervisor’s direction to ensure smooth communication and project flow.

Solve problems on-site, ensuring work progresses smoothly despite challenges.

Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, where each day brings something new!

Job Locations:

Travel across Melbourne Metro—you will be working on various sites across the city. While locations vary, we’ll do our best to send you to jobs closest to your home.

What We’re Looking For:

Solid carpentry experience across all areas, from framing and cladding to decking and fix-outs.

Strong leadership and team management skills—motivate and guide your team to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Ability to problem-solve on the fly and keep projects moving forward.

Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, trades, and team members.

A commitment to punctuality, quality craftsmanship, and a strong work ethic.

Steel framing experience is a plus, but not essential.

Reliable vehicle—with the ability to carry materials as needed for the job.

A full toolkit to complete the required tasks.
