The Role (Purpose)

Own the day-to-day running of site works. You’ll lead a small crew, coordinate trades and materials, keep quality tight, and drive program milestones so each stage is delivered safely, cleanly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Site Leadership: Run daily pre-starts/toolbox talks; allocate tasks; coach apprentices; uphold housekeeping and lock-up.

Planning & Sequencing: Two-week lookahead, materials take-offs and orders, deliveries, staging and protection of finishes.

Set-out & Carpentry: Stringlines/lasers, framing, lock-up, cladding, fix, stairs/decks, fit-off to spec and tolerance.

Quality Assurance: Check levels, fixings and finishes; maintain checklists; close defects before handover.

Drawings & RFIs: Read plans, details and specs; raise RFIs early; mark up as-builts where required.

Trade Coordination: Schedule and supervise subcontractors; ensure SWMS and permits are in place.

Safety & Compliance: Lead safety culture; manage site inductions, protection, and incident reporting.

Record-Keeping: Daily site diary, photos, deliveries, variations and progress updates (tablet/phone).

Skills & Experience

Qualified Carpenter (Cert III) with ~5+ years’ experience (renos/extensions preferred).

Proven leading hand experience: planning the day, delegating, mentoring and holding standards.

Strong set-out, problem-solving and finishing skills; can read drawings and anticipate next-trade needs.

Confident communicator with clients, suppliers and subbies; calm under pressure.

Tech-friendly (phone/tablet) for diaries, RFIs and scheduling; Wunderbuild experience a bonus.

Current White Card, driver’s licence; reliable vehicle and a solid tool kit.
