Marlin Australia Pty Ltd is a family- owned Australian manufacturer of life jackets and high visibility clothing, located in St Peter's. We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity to join our team in an Accounts Payable role, reporting to the General Manager. You will be responsible for coordinating the end-to-end accounts payable & receivable duties for all associated administration functions. This role is office based only in our St Peter's Office.
This is a role for a candidate with working rights for employment in Australia.
More specifically, you will be responsible for:
· Accounts Payable / Receivable
· Preparing BAS Statements
· Payroll
· Superannuation
· Financial reporting; budgets, sales & inventory.
· Accurate processing, payment, and reconciliation of all creditor / debtor accounts.
· Raising prompt payment cheques and allocating to the correct general ledger (GL) codes.
· Engaging with our production department to ensure all required shipment payments have been calculated and loaded for payment
· Allocate payments against purchase orders and / or invoices in our Finance system
· Promptly respond to all creditor queries and customer requests
· Identification of monthly AP accruals
· Processing and payment of employee expense and reimbursements.
· Regularly communicate with internal and external stakeholders via phone and email.
· Any other duties that may be reasonably requested from time to time.
Experience and Skills Required:
· 3+ years of accounts experience, preferably in the manufacturing, logistics or retail industries
· Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet stringent deadlines
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
· Self-motivated and able to work within a small team
· Solid understanding of end of month processes and procedures
· Ability to reconcile invoices / statements accurately and efficiently
· High level data entry / accounts payable processing skills
· Commercial analytical/reporting and numeracy skills
· Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
· A cooperative, friendly and professional phone manner
· Great communication skills both written and verbal
· Ability to quickly learn and understand ERP accounts systems
· Ability to solve problems with consideration to business impact
· Capability to perform daily tasks autonomously and be a participative team member.
· Bachelor Degree in Accounting or similar certification or formal training in accounts administration is a plus!
