Environmental Coordinator

• Circa $110,000 - $130,000 + Super, multi-site Environmental Coordinator role, based in Chatswood.

This company is a leading, independent civil engineering contractor, delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across New South Wales and Queensland. Committed to excellence in environmental outcomes, safety, and sustainability, they are looking for an Environmental Coordinator to join their established team, to support a growing project portfolio, ensuring high environmental standards and continuous improvement across all sites. The Environmental Coordinator will play a key role in driving these initiatives on Sydney-based projects.

About the Role
This role involves day-to-day site-based environmental responsibilities across multiple major civil engineering projects, building strong relationships and trust with site teams. Joining an existing Environmental team, the company have excellent policies in place, and prioritises environmental impacts in every decision. This role is critical in ensuring these standards are met and continuously improved across projects.

Duties

• Implement and maintain Environmental and Sustainability policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation and company standards.
• Visit sites to engage with site teams and management, providing guidance and responding to technical environmental and sustainability queries.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations, identifying areas for improvement and development in environmental performance.
• Assist in the preparation of Project Environmental Plans (PEPs) and Environmental Work Methodologies.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact for environmental matters.
• Support the integration of environmental management into broader HSEQ processes.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in a similar role within civil engineering, infrastructure, or related industries.
• Demonstrated experience implementing environmental and sustainability policies in line with legislative requirements.
• Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Construction White Card and current driver's licence preferred.
• Knowledge of environmental remediation systems or Bluebook training is advantageous.
