Occupational Health and Safety Manager

Permanent Position – On Site

Must have manufacturing background

Up to $120K plus review of salary after 6 months

A key safety leadership role is available with a leading Australian chemical manufacturer, boasting over 50 years of expertise in high-performance polymer products. This position seeks a proactive OH&S Manager (or a strong 2IC ready to step up) with a manufacturing background. In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with site leadership and 150+ employees to drive safety culture, enhance systems, and ensure ISO certification readiness - while also shaping the national safety strategy. This position offers significant potential for long-term career growth.

Core Responsibilities:

Lead site-wide safety and compliance initiatives

Coach and partner with operational leaders to embed proactive safety culture

Drive internal audits and support ISO 45001 & 14001 readiness

Manage risk assessments, environmental compliance and incident investigations

Contribute to national HSEQ strategy and continuous improvement

Required experience and qualifications:

3 – 4+ years' experience in Health & Safety within manufacturing

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across all levels

Solid knowledge of H&S systems, audits and regulatory compliance

Lead Auditor certification (or internal auditor) and relevant tertiary qualifications

Minimum Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Work Health and Safety required

Any ISO Lead Auditor certification preferred, though internal auditor certification will be considered

Desirable :

Background in chemical safety

ICAM or similar incident investigation training

Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
