Proclinical is seeking a Project Engineer to join our client, a global Biopharmaceutical leader renowned for its innovation and commitment to delivering medicines to treat health conditions and improve quality of life. At their Broadmeadows site, they manufacture life-saving blood plasma–derived medicines whilst this role is responsible for delivering Tier 3 projects that improve facilities, utilities, and operations across the site.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager R&D Lead, the Project Engineer will manage smaller-scale Tier 3 projects with a focus on construction, contractor management, and GMP compliance. This is a hands-on role coordinating trades, permits, and follow-up works to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to standard.

Team Size: 5 (core project team, with support from adjacent groups)
Duration: 12-month contract (potential to extend)
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Mon–Fri, standard 8:30am start, with some flexibility for early starts or occasional Saturday work. Penalty rates apply for >38 hrs/week.
Capacity: 5 days onsite
Location: Broadmeadows, VIC
WHV: Eligible if available to commit to full 12-month duration

Role Responsibilities

Deliver Tier 3 projects across the Broadmeadows site, including:

Tank replacements

Security office expansion

Equipment replacement projects (e.g. refrigerators in production)

Utilities upgrades to improve site performance

Manage contractors and trades on-site, ensuring safe and efficient project delivery.

Oversee permits, compliance, and construction management activities.

Support project planning, scheduling, and execution within GMP frameworks.

Ensure follow-up projects and incomplete works are closed out effectively.

Skills and Experience

Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar project engineering role.

Strong contractor and construction management experience.

Demonstrated ability to manage permits, trades, and multiple small-scale projects.

Knowledge of GMP standards and working in regulated environments.

Pharma industry background is highly desirable, though candidates from construction or related industries will also be considered.

Proactive, quick learner with strong initiative and the ability to run with requirements.
