A Water Corporation based in Melbourne's inner suburbs seeking a Project Engineer working on renewal projects.
Are you a technically minded project professional with a passion for infrastructure delivery? We're seeking a proactive and adaptable Project Engineer to join a high-performing delivery team working on critical water and sewer renewal projects across Melbourne's western corridor.
This is a hands-on delivery role with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, safety, and project coordination, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to hit the ground running.
Your new organisation
You'll be joining a collaborative team responsible for delivering multiple concurrent capital works projects, primarily focused on water renewals. Working closely with contractors and internal stakeholders, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
This role is not heavily engineering-design focused, instead, it requires someone with strong technical understanding, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage scope, timelines, and site-based coordination.
Your new role
- Support the delivery of water and sewer renewal projects from planning through to commissioning and handover.
- Liaise with contractors, field crews, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Lead site meetings and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and respond quickly to changes in scope or priorities.
- Ensure all work aligns with relevant legislation, standards, and internal procedures
What you'll need to succeed
- Extensive experience in project delivery, ideally within the water industry or civil infrastructure.
- Exposure to water and/or sewer renewals highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and site-based project coordination.
- Excellent communication skills - confident engaging with crews, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Agile, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects in a high-volume environment.
- Engineering degree (or equivalent experience) preferred.
What you'll get in return
- Work on meaningful infrastructure projects that directly impact local communities.
- Be part of a supportive and fast-paced team environment
- Gain exposure to a variety of projects and stakeholders
- Flexible hybrid working
- Initial 9-month contract with the view to extend and paying between $65 - $70 p/h + super
- Immediate start available - perfect for someone looking to make an impact before the end of the year.
