Six Degrees have partnered with large organisation who specialise in all things animal care to recruit a New Product Development Assistant for their Ryde, NSW location. This is an office-based role with occasional travel to visit suppliers.

The NPD Assistant plays a critical role within the Private Label Technical Team, supporting the end-to-end development of new products across a wide range of categories including food, treats, health, and litter.
This role combines strong technical knowledge with product information management and administrative excellence, ensuring product data integrity, artwork accuracy, and stakeholder alignment. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the NPD Assistant ensures product data accuracy, supports supplier information processes, and contributes to the smooth delivery of projects in line with business timelines to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of private label NPD projects in line with range review timelines.
• Contribute to market reviews, competitor analysis, and product benchmarking to inform new product development.
• Assist with the preparation of new product briefs for suppliers.
• Help create and initiate accurate product specifications and technical documentation.
• Maintain and update product data in internal databases, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance.
• Conduct weekly reviews and updates of all project timelines, following up with internal and external stakeholders as required.
• Manage documentation and approvals processes for suppliers and internal functions.
• Preparation of product costing from supplier submissions.
• Conduct deep market research to align and validate NPD innovation concepts.

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of administrative or data analytics experience
• Previous experience in FMCG, retail, or product development support role preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven project management experience with strong proficiency in project management tools like Asana, Excel, and MS Project.
• A love for all animals, big or small!
