The Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron is seeking a reliable and detail oriented Senior Accounts Officer to assist our CFO in all functions of the Accounts Department, including Accounts Payable, Receivable and month-end reports and processing . The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of responsibility, confidentiality and ethical standards and will play a key role in supporting the Accounts team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with preparing accurate accounting reports and presenting results to the CFO.

Review financial information and discuss financial status with the CFO.

Support month-end and year-end close processes. Including, but not limited to the preparation of support reports and working papers.

Support month-end and year-end close processes.

Assist with asset register reconciliations.

Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable. Assist with annual leave relief, and /or month-end overflow as required.

Weekly (or as required) debt collection – assist with any overflow from the accounts receivable role, as required.

Creditor invoices, member refund processing – assist with any overflow from the accounts payable role, as required.

Assist with compliance with financial, tax, and other regulatory requirements.

Assist with business processes to strengthen internal controls.

Liaise with and assist the finance team to enhance financial procedures.

Assist in preparing financial statements and annual budgets.

Experience working in similar sized business environment - this role is not suitable for remote option

Must have own transport and be able to commute to Manly (Bayside)
