Melbourne Medicolegal is a modern medicolegal reporting company working to improve the experience for everyone involved in personal injury law cases - including injured people, lawyers, insurance companies, and medical experts. We're launching an exciting new podcast initiative to educate and engage the medicolegal community.
The Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced podcast producer and content creator to independently create Season 1 of our medicolegal education podcast. This is a complete end-to-end production role where you'll have creative control while working within our content framework.
Project Scope: 8 episodes (30 minutes each) targeting lawyers, doctors, and students in the medicolegal space.
Budget: $500-$600 per episode based on experience and efficiency, with a total project budget of $5,000 (including $200 for design elements).
Timeline: The role is available to start immediately. Our goal is to have Season 1 episodes completed and ready for publication by February 2026.
What You'll Do
Content Creation & Production:
Research and develop episode topics focused on medicolegal education and case study analysis
Conduct interviews with medical and legal experts (we'll provide access to our network)
Handle all recording, editing, and post-production to create publication-ready content
Ensure compliance with Australian Privacy Principles in case study discussions
Design & Branding:
Create podcast logo and episode cover art (or manage external design via platforms like Fiverr - $200 budget provided)
Maintain consistent visual branding across all materials
Distribution & Marketing:
Publish episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and one additional platform
Create LinkedIn posts and direct marketing content to promote episodes
Develop blog posts for our website based on episode content
Handle all marketing and distribution activities
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
Proven podcast production experience with a portfolio of previous work
Minimum 6-12 episodes of podcast production experience required to demonstrate proven capability
Legal background or qualification (paralegal, law graduate, or practicing lawyer)
Law degree qualification required for this role
Experience with audio recording, editing, and podcast publishing platforms
Strong research and interviewing skills
Excellent written communication for marketing materials
Australian work rights are required for this contract role
Highly Regarded:
Knowledge of medical terminology and medicolegal processes
Experience in personal injury or insurance law
Understanding of Australian Privacy Principles
Previous experience in educational or professional content creation
Melbourne-based (for potential in-person expert interviews)
