About Melbourne Medicolegal

Melbourne Medicolegal is a modern medicolegal reporting company working to improve the experience for everyone involved in personal injury law cases - including injured people, lawyers, insurance companies, and medical experts. We're launching an exciting new podcast initiative to educate and engage the medicolegal community.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced podcast producer and content creator to independently create Season 1 of our medicolegal education podcast. This is a complete end-to-end production role where you'll have creative control while working within our content framework.

Project Scope: 8 episodes (30 minutes each) targeting lawyers, doctors, and students in the medicolegal space.

Budget: $500-$600 per episode based on experience and efficiency, with a total project budget of $5,000 (including $200 for design elements).

Timeline: The role is available to start immediately. Our goal is to have Season 1 episodes completed and ready for publication by February 2026.

What You'll Do

Content Creation & Production:

Research and develop episode topics focused on medicolegal education and case study analysis

Conduct interviews with medical and legal experts (we'll provide access to our network)

Handle all recording, editing, and post-production to create publication-ready content

Ensure compliance with Australian Privacy Principles in case study discussions

Design & Branding:

Create podcast logo and episode cover art (or manage external design via platforms like Fiverr - $200 budget provided)

Maintain consistent visual branding across all materials

Distribution & Marketing:

Publish episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and one additional platform

Create LinkedIn posts and direct marketing content to promote episodes

Develop blog posts for our website based on episode content

Handle all marketing and distribution activities

Proven podcast production experience with a portfolio of previous work

Minimum 6-12 episodes of podcast production experience required to demonstrate proven capability

Legal background or qualification (paralegal, law graduate, or practicing lawyer)

Law degree qualification required for this role

Experience with audio recording, editing, and podcast publishing platforms

Strong research and interviewing skills

Excellent written communication for marketing materials

Australian work rights are required for this contract role

Highly Regarded:

Knowledge of medical terminology and medicolegal processes

Experience in personal injury or insurance law

Understanding of Australian Privacy Principles

What We Offer

Competitive per-episode rate: $500-$600 based on experience and production efficiency

Complete creative independence - you manage the entire process

Access to our network of medical and legal experts for interviews

Flexible working arrangements and timeline

Opportunity to build something impactful for the medicolegal community

Potential for future podcast seasons based on success of Season 1

Success Metrics

We're focused on quality over numbers:

Professional production quality with clear audio and engaging content

Positive feedback from legal and medical professionals

Content that provides genuine educational value to the medicolegal community

Independent project management with minimal oversight required
