What You’ll Do

Commission, install, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimise Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and drive systems in industrial / water / irrigation settings

Read, interpret, and annotate electrical/control drawings (single-line, wiring diagrams, ladder logic schematics)

Create, review, debug, and modify PLC logic (Allen-Bradley, Omron, or equivalent) and integrate with HMI/SCADA systems

Diagnose and resolve communication and network issues — industrial Ethernet, Modbus, ProfiNet, etc.

Perform site commissioning, loop testing, loop checks, functional testing, and handover to clients

Provide technical support and fault-finding for live systems under time pressure

Collaborate with design engineers to suggest improvements, refine control strategies, and document changes

Travel regionally (Queensland and interstate as required) to execute field service, commissioning, and maintenance

What We’re Looking For

Valid electrical license (QLD or equivalent)

Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in industrial automation, water / irrigation systems, or process control

Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming, debugging, and modification

Proven experience with VSD commissioning, tuning, and troubleshooting

Solid understanding of industrial network communications, Ethernet, and fieldbus protocols

Ability to read, interpret, and annotate control and wiring diagrams

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive “can do” attitude

Willingness to travel (regional sites, remote locations)

Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality work under pressure
