We are seeking an experienced and professional Payroll Officer to join the team in Campbellfield. This pivotal role requires someone who is not only technically capable but also calm, reliable, and personable; someone who can work autonomously as well as within a small, collaborative team.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll function across multiple entities, processing payroll for 100+ employees.
Key responsibilities include:
Full-function payroll processing (weekly/fortnightly) across multiple business entities
Cross-checking and reconciling timesheets
Accurate interpretation of construction industry awards and EBAs
Handling payroll queries, tax, superannuation, and leave entitlements
Providing support with payroll-related compliance and reporting
Processing new starters, terminations, and variations
Liaising with managers to resolve discrepancies
Assisting with year-end functions including PAYG summaries and reconciliations
Supporting finance with ad hoc accounts tasks when required
About You
Experienced payroll professional with a proven background in medium-to-large payrolls (100+ staff)
Strong knowledge of award interpretation and payroll legislation
Proficient in payroll/accounting systems; MYOB Advanced (Acumatica), Exo and Xero desirable
High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
Calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills
Professional, honest, and reliable; able to build trust across the business
Strong communicator with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable in a construction industry environment

Salary package aligned with experience
Full-time, permanent position with rotating hours:
Week 1: Monday – Friday 8am–4pm
Week 2: Monday – Thursday 9am–5pm, Frid 8am–4pm
