We’re partnering with a long-established and highly respected transport operator to recruit a highly skilled Transport Manager.

This family-owned business has been connecting regional communities with the Port of Melbourne for decades. With a modern fleet, container handling equipment, AQIS-approved facilities, and a reputation built on reliability and service, they’re now seeking a senior operator to step into this pivotal leadership role.

The Opportunity

This position will see you managing transport and logistics functions across multiple regional sites, while ensuring compliance, efficiency, and exceptional service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing scheduling of linehaul trucks to meet vessel cut-offs and import availability requirements.
• Managing VBS slot allocations and ensuring accurate manifesting through Freight Tracker and 1Stop.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for drivers, with a focus on compliance (fatigue, mass, speed management).
• Working closely with workshop and fleet teams on maintenance and equipment utilisation.
• Delivering accurate operational and financial reporting, including driver pays, invoicing, and cost recovery.
• Leading a culture of staff training, compliance, and continuous improvement.

About You
We’re seeking a transport professional with:

• Proven experience in scheduling and coordinating freight movements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with staff, drivers, and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to problem-solve under pressure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, plus familiarity with systems such as Freight Tracker, Linxio, or similar.
• A commitment to delivering high-quality service outcomes.
