About Patterson Homes
Patterson Homes is a family-owned builder with over 25 years’ experience delivering new homes, duplexes, townhouses, and multi-unit developments across South East Melbourne.
We’ve built our reputation on attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and a personalised approach that puts our clients first. Working closely with leading local architects, we offer a complete design-and-build service — from concept to completion — giving our clients confidence, peace of mind, and homes they’re proud of.
About the role
We are seeking a Construction Project Administrator to take charge of the contractual, administrative, and compliance side of our residential projects.
This is more than just an admin role — it’s a key stepping stone in our business. We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about clients, takes ownership of their work, and wants to build a long-term career with us. For the right person, there are clear opportunities to grow into broader operations and project leadership roles.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate new build projects through town planning and demolition stages.
Act as the key point of contact for new and existing clients.
Secure required permits across all pre-site phases.
Review drawings, specifications, and colour selections for accuracy and consistency.
Work with certifiers and consultants to obtain approvals and supporting documents.
Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and consultants; coordinate meetings and agendas.
Prepare, review, and manage HIA contracts and supporting documents.
Maintain contract records including variations, amendments, and compliance documents.
Track project timelines, obligations, and ensure contractual compliance.
Participate in project close-out processes including warranties, documentation, and client handovers.
Skills and experience
Proven experience in a similar role within residential building and multi-unit developments.
Understanding of town planning processes, development applications, and local council regulations.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Strong communication skills — professional, client-focused, and proactive.
Proficiency with contract management systems, project management software, and MS Office.
A growth mindset — proactive, eager to learn, and looking to step up into bigger responsibilities over time.
Benefits and perks
Competitive salary up to $85,000 + superannuation.
KPI-based incentive package that rewards accountability and results.
Regular salary review periods.
Clear career development pathway within a growing domestic building company.
Supportive, down-to-earth team where people are at the heart of our success.
Long-term stability with a trusted builder in Melbourne’s South East.
