Join UBS as a Project Team Leader!
At UBS, we specialise in insurance building repairs, helping Australians restore their homes after storms, floods, fires, and other insured events. For over 26 years, we’ve proudly partnered with some of the nation’s most trusted insurers to deliver fast, reliable, and high-quality repairs when they’re needed most. Our work makes a real difference in people’s lives — and we’re just as proud of the supportive, down-to-earth culture we’ve built behind the scenes.
We’re currently looking for a Project Team Leader to lead our team of Project Coordinators in Victoria. If you’re a natural leader with a passion for insurance repairs, team performance, and smooth operations, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
Purpose of the Role
As a Project Team Leader, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our insurance repair projects under $20K across Victoria. You’ll coach, mentor, and support a team of Project Coordinators — ensuring claims progress efficiently, customers are kept informed, and every project is delivered to our high standards. You’ll also be the go-to contact for all things operational: balancing workloads, maintaining compliance, resolving escalations, improving internal processes, and coordinating effectively between coordinators, trades, clients, and insurance partners.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead, support, and coach a team of Project Coordinators handling insurance repair claims under $20,000.
- Oversee all active project files – ensure timely trade allocation, customer contact, and smooth project delivery.
- Review and approve job variations and invoicing to maintain cost efficiency and accuracy.
- Act as the first point of escalation for customer complaints and rectification issues.
- Manage and review client portal updates, WIP files, and CR data for accuracy and performance.
- Maintain fair and even distribution of workloads across the team.
- Conduct weekly 1:1s and quarterly performance reviews with Project Coordinators.
- Ensure all claims are progressing in line with company KPIs and client scorecard requirements.
- Monitor and ensure trade allocation standards (Tier 1/2/3) are met.
- Collaborate closely with the Technical Construction Manager and other internal teams (Permits, Finance, Contracts).
- Oversee DHA maintenance and internal trade scheduling and compliance (incl. LinkSafe checks and audits).
- Contribute to team recruitment, training, and leave/time management.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:

- Has experience managing teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Understands construction, insurance, or trade-based workflows (ideal but not essential)
- Can balance competing priorities with calmness and clarity
- Communicates clearly, solves problems efficiently, and stays cool under pressure
- Is confident with data, admin systems, and compliance reporting
What You’ll Need
- Experience managing a team
- Previous relevant experience working in insurance, building or related field
- A current driver’s licence (100 points ID)
- A current clear National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- A positive, can-do attitude and a team-first mindset
Why Join UBS?
- Be part of a purpose-driven company that helps people rebuild their homes and lives
- Enjoy a collaborative and inclusive work environment where your voice is valued
