About the role
Reporting to the Service Lead Community Development Capacity, the Community Development Officer – Community Partnership Projects will be responsible for facilitating partnerships and projects to support community action and supporting local community organisations to become more efficient, effective and resilient.
A snapshot of your new role:
Work with community organisations and groups to build skills, knowledge and experience
Support the development of a connected and collaborative community sector in Canning by bringing community organisations and groups together to learn and share
Identify, develop and implement partnership projects, programs and activities that deliver on community outcomes
Provide direct support to community led initiatives and projects
Assist the Service Lead Community Development to develop reports, funding submissions and grant acquittals as required
Who we’re looking for:
Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, or similar, or equivalent experience
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in community development, or similar role
Experience in community projects, including researching, developing and managing projects
Knowledge of the principles of community development, with the ability to apply these in a local government context
Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
Strong project management skills, with experience and capability to manage multiple projects
Understanding of the principles of inclusion, with a demonstrated commitment to the application of inclusion principles in planning and delivery
Satisfactory National Police Clearance (under six months)
