About the role
Join the dynamic team at Jericho Moffat Beach as a Sous Chef. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in the smooth running of the kitchen and the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. Based in the vibrant coastal town of Moffat Beach, Queensland, this role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and leadership abilities.

What you'll be doing

Assist the Sous Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and quality control

Lead and supervise a team of talented chefs, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards, with a focus on creativity, flavour, and presentation

Maintain strict compliance with health and safety regulations, kitchen procedures, and inventory management

Contribute to the development and implementation of new menu items, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients

Provide training and mentorship to junior chefs, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge

Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and a exceptional dining experience for our guests

What we're looking for

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-quality restaurant or hotel environment

Minimum 3 years experience as CDP or Sous Chef with progressive mindset, passion for ingredients, and ability to lead teams whilst working collaboratively with front-of-house staff

Strong technical cooking skills with a passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes

Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and developing kitchen staff

Thorough understanding of food safety regulations, inventory management, and cost control

Basic understanding of P&L and gross profit management

Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the entire restaurant team

Formal culinary training or a relevant qualification in hospitality or culinary arts is highly desirable

Must have Australian work authorisation
