About the role

The Octopus Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at our restaurant in Redcliffe, QLD. As a full-time Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our customers.

What you'll be doing

Assisting the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, food preparation, stock ordering and quality control

Supervising and mentoring the kitchen team to ensure consistent and high-quality food delivery

Implementing and maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards

Collaborating with the management team to develop and refine menu offerings

Managing inventory and making recommendations for ingredient purchases

Fostering a positive and productive work environment in the kitchen

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment

Strong working knowledge of Italian cuisine and a variety of cooking techniques, as well as experience in stock control and ordering

Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Exceptional communication and team leadership skills

Passion for creating authentic and delicious dishes

Valid food safety and hygiene certification
