The Role

We're seeking a Junior Sous or Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the daily operations of our modern Australian restaurant. With your culinary experience, you'll help deliver high-quality menu items while collaborating on specials and menu development. You'll ensure costings and budgets for COGS and wages are met, assist with ordering, stock control, and monitoring wastage. The role also requires overseeing and upholding all Food Safety policies and procedures. Most importantly you will be able to and will to step up to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be required to have but not limited to the following attributes.

  • Relevant Qualifications in kitchen operations and food safety
  • Proven experience in Al a Carte dining, Modern Australian Cuisine and Fresh Seafood
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a large and busy team
  • Ordering and stocktaking experience, managing budgets and COGS
  • Great time management, calm under pressure, acts with integrity, honesty and empathy
