The Role
Reporting to the Group Head of Safety, the EHS Manager for the site will take ownership of all safety, health, and environmental initiatives. Working closely with site leadership, you will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and leading continuous improvement projects. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who enjoys being visible on the floor and influencing positive change.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE standards
- Lead risk and hazard management, including incident investigations and corrective actions
- Develop and implement annual safety improvement plans aligned with business objectives
- Oversee occupational health programs, including injury management and return-to-work initiatives
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, EPA licensing, and waste management
- Provide leadership on HSE training, site safety communications, and emergency response
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced HSE professional with a strong background in manufacturing. You will be confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels and thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Minimum five years’ experience in HSE leadership roles within a manufacturing background - ideally FMCG or food required
- Diploma or higher qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
- Strong expertise in injury management, return-to-work programs, and compliance
- Sound knowledge of safety legislation and experience dealing with regulatory bodies
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and influencing skills
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to deliver practical solutions
