WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are currently seeking junior trades assistants to join our maintenance team. This job is a pathway to an apprenticeship for the right candidates. This is an opportunity for go-getters who like to work with their hands and are interested in getting into a mechanical trade. The suitable candidate must be an enthusiastic self-starter and be willing to commit to a long term opportunity.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting qualified tradesmen by performing

General labour duties

Cleaning

Tool preparation

Assistance with mechanical work

Performing of routine maintenance tasks such as greasing and oil changes

Cleaning and organizing of the workshop areas

Pre-start checks of machinery

General material handling duties with a forklift. (Must be willing to obtain a forklift license - Paid for by the employer)

Actively engage in the training opportunities provided

WHO ARE YOU?

Must have a drivers license and reliable transport

Must show initiative - Be a proactive self starter

Must be reliable in attendance

Must be physically able to perform the work

Some mechanical aptitude is preferred

Must have a minimum of a year 10 school certificate

Must have good communication skills

Must be able to focus and take instruction

Must be safety conscious - actively following the site safety rules and procedures.

Must be able to work in a team and by yourself as required
