About the role

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Trades Assistant to join our team at Get It Laid Tiling and Decking. This is a casual position, offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced tradespeople and learn new skills in the tiling and decking industry. Our work is throughout the Livingstone Shire ranging from the outskirts of Rockhampton to Yeppoon and including Emu Park and Zilzie.

What you'll be doing

Assisting tradespeople with various tasks such as preparing and cleaning work areas, transporting and handling materials, and providing general support on job sites

Learning installation techniques for tiling and decking from experienced team members and implementing them on our job sites

Completing tiled areas by ensuring the areas are grouted cleaned and sealed before handover

Maintaining a clean and organised work environment

Ensuring work is completed in a safe and efficient manner

Communicating effectively with the team to ensure the successful completion of projects

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or in a similar labourer role (desirable, but not essential)

Strong physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy materials

Own vehicle is a must

A keen interest in learning new skills and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks

Good communication and teamwork skills

Attention to detail and a commitment to safety
