About the Role

As the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for independently opening, running, and closing the bakery retail space. You will lead and motivate the retail team, ensuring a high standard of customer service, food safety, and product presentation. This role requires someone who is proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Operations & Leadership

•Open and set up the bakery retail space and close at the end of the day independently.

•Oversee and support retail staff, ensuring smooth daily operations.

•Train and develop staff as needed to maintain high service standards.

•Manage staff breaks and delegate tasks effectively.

• Organise staff coverage in case of sick leave.

Product Management & Sales

•Ensure continuous restocking of products throughout the day to maintain availability.

•Rotate stock to minimise waste and maintain freshness.

•Motivate staff to upsell and engage customers to enhance sales.

•Oversee the heating of pies and other products for sale.

Barista & Beverage Service

•Prepare high-quality espresso-based drinks and other beverages.

•Maintain and clean coffee machines and equipment regularly.

•Ensure consistency in coffee preparation and presentation.

•Train and support staff in barista skills when necessary.

Customer Service & Conflict Resolution

•Provide a welcoming and friendly experience for all customers.

•Address customer complaints and resolve conflicts professionally and efficiently.

•Lead by example in customer service excellence.

Presentation & Food Safety

•Maintain meticulous shop presentation, ensuring all products are displayed beautifully.

•Ensure clean trays, undamaged products, and excellent visual merchandising.

•Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards, following all health and safety policies.

•Administrative & Stock Management.

•Manage ordering of stock to ensure product availability.

•Ensure accurate and efficient point-of-sale transactions.

•Responsible for training plans, implementation and reviews of staff.

•Adhere to cleaning schedules, policies, and procedures while also taking initiative to improve quality and efficiency.

About You

•Experienced in retail, hospitality, or a similar role.

•Confident in leading a team and working independently.

•Skilled in barista work with knowledge of coffee preparation and equipment.

•Highly organised, proactive, and able to problem-solve on the spot.

•Excellent communication skills with a customer-first approach.

•Strong attention to detail and a passion for high-quality presentation.

•Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the business.
