Position Title: Production / Process Improvement Manager
Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Reports To: General Manager / Operations Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and progressive Production / Process Improvement Manager with a strong mechanical or engineering background to drive efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement in our manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and optimising production processes, conducting time and motion studies, and implementing process improvement frameworks (Lean, Kaizen, ERP/MES). This role will directly contribute to increased productivity, reduced costs, and improved quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard times and identify efficiency opportunities.

Develop and implement production processes and SOPs to improve workflow, reduce waste, and increase output.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, Kaizen, and 5S practices.

Implement and manage production performance metrics (KPIs) and dashboards.

Collaborate with management to integrate ERP/MES systems for production planning and reporting.

Monitor production schedules, resource utilisation, and workforce productivity.

Identify bottlenecks and introduce solutions for process optimisation.

Provide coaching, training, and support to production staff in best practices.

Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Prepare reports and recommendations for senior management regarding process performance and improvement strategies.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent qualification).

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production, process improvement, or industrial engineering role.

Proven ability to conduct time and motion analysis and implement productivity improvements.

Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies.

Experience with ERP/MES systems and data-driven decision-making.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and drive change across teams.

Strong commitment to workplace health & safety and compliance.

Employment Terms

Position: Full-time, permanent

Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia

Salary Range: AUD $90,000 – $110,000 per annum + superannuation

Hours of Work: 38 hours per week (with reasonable additional hours as required)

Leave Entitlements: As per Australian National Employment Standards (NES)
