The Role: Production Manager

We are seeking a talented Production Manager to lead our dynamic production teams at Benelec in a hands-on permanent full-time capacity.

In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of manufacturing and production, including the leadership and management of a dedicated team of product managers, supervisors, technicians, process workers, and apprentices. You will oversee operations across our engineering workshop, antenna assembly area, and electropolishing facility.

This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, initiative, and a positive, solutions-focused mindset. You’ll play a key part in devising technologically advanced manufacturing processes, improving productivity, ensuring product quality, and supporting the ongoing growth and innovation of our manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing productivity and processes.

Manage production scheduling to ensure timely delivery of all products.

Oversee daily production operations and monitor output against targets.

Ensure all products meet strict quality standards and specifications before leaving the factory.

Identify and resolve any issues impacting performance targets.

Lead, mentor, and develop the production teams to maintain a positive culture and productive work environment.

Manage production assets, manufacturing materials and human resources to maximise output.

Oversee maintenance of all plant and equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Collaborate with the R&D and Sales teams to align production with broader business goals.

Contribute to strategic planning for current capacity and future growth.

Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, policies, and procedures.

Skills and Experience

Proven experience in production or manufacturing management.

Knowledge of laser cutting and etching, CNC Mills & Lathes, and welding processes.

Strong leadership, planning, and team management skills.

Hands-on experience with power tools and soldering.

Sound understanding of QA processes, WHS legislation, and environmental standards.

Proficiency in using standard IT systems and software.
