Martin’s Trailer Parts (MTP) is a proudly WA-owned light engineering and manufacturing business. With branches in O’Connor, Wangara, and Bayswater, we specialise in trailer parts, towing equipment, and providing technical expertise to customers across the towed vehicle industry.

We’re seeking a hands-on Counter Salesperson who enjoys solving problems, understands mechanical systems (or is keen to learn), and thrives in a team environment where everyone pulls together.

About the Role

This is a practical, customer-facing role where you’ll apply your mechanical aptitude daily. While full training will be provided, you’ll be expected to develop the technical knowledge needed to give accurate, trustworthy advice.

Key responsibilities:

Serving customers at the counter and over the phone, providing technical product guidance.

Processing sales transactions accurately (EFTPOS & cash).

Restocking shelves and maintaining tidy, well-organised stock areas.

Picking, packing, and dispatching orders — including coordinating with other branches to ensure timely deliveries.

Assisting with stock control, QMS registers, and branch safety checks.

Following WHS procedures to maintain a safe, efficient workplace.

Occasional work at our Wangara or Bayswater branches to support team needs.

About You

You might come from a mechanical trade, metalwork, or automotive background, or you may simply be a practical problem-solver with a strong interest in how things work.

Strong people skills and a customer-first attitude.

Willingness to learn new systems, products, and industry standards.

Reliability and initiative — someone who takes pride in doing things properly.

Requirements (must-have):

Current WA driver’s licence.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Comfortable with computers or a willingness to learn — our team uses Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Preferred (highly regarded):

Forklift licence.

Own vehicle for commuting and flexibility.

Prior experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) in a business or manufacturing environment.

Pay & Benefits

$37.00 per hour + super (12%) starting rate.

Pay progression following probation and periodic performance reviews.
