Rostering Officer — Community Care (Queensland)
$78,000–$85,000 + 12% super
Hybrid (Queensland): work from home with QLD-based team days

Cross Care Group delivers hospital‑to‑home healthcare so people can thrive in their own communities. We're growing our Community Care division in Queensland (including Bundaberg) and need an outcomes‑driven Rostering Officer to make sure the right worker is with the right client, every shift.

Why join us

Purpose you can feel: Your rosters directly protect client safety, continuity and outcomes.

Values-led: Integrity • Collaboration • Innovation • Excellence.

Modern tools: Microsoft 365 + SharePoint (IMS), Visual Care for rostering, Teams for comms.

Fair pay & conditions: SCHADS (MA000100) SACS Level 3 base + 12% super, 17.5% leave loading, on‑call allowance when applicable.

Flexibility: Hybrid work anywhere in QLD; standard daytime hours with occasional paid after‑hours rotation.

What you'll do

Build and publish daily/weekly rosters across QLD community care services (in‑home, community, telehealth).

Match skills, credentials and availability to client needs (scope of practice, travel, preferences, continuity).

Hit fill‑rate & continuity targets while controlling overtime and travel.

Solve short‑notice vacancies fast (same‑day gaps, call‑outs), escalating within defined time windows.

Partner with coordinators & HR/credentialing to enforce roster‑blocking on critical credential lapses.

Keep clean, auditable records in Visual Care and SharePoint; suggest and test process improvements.

Communicate clearly with field teams and clients—calm under pressure, respectful always.

Outcomes you'll own

Fill rate (first‑time‑right coverage)

Continuity of care (minimise unnecessary carer/client changes)

Overtime & travel efficiency (within agreed thresholds)

Roster integrity & compliance (credential/privilege checks; documentation quality)

About you

Rostering/scheduling experience in community care, NDIS, aged care, disability, or healthcare.

Minimum experience requirement: 1-2 years of rostering or scheduling experience in a similar environment.

Calm, commercial problem‑solver who enjoys closing the last 10% of gaps.

Stakeholder savvy: you can say "no" constructively and find a safe alternative fast.

Tech confident: Visual Care (or similar), Microsoft 365/Teams; comfortable with spreadsheets.

Award‑literate: working knowledge of SCHADS and Nurses penalties/allowances and ordinary‑hours rules.

Bonus points: multi‑site/state‑wide rostering experience within Queensland; ideas for automation.

Pay & conditions

Base: $78,000–$85,000 + 12% super

Allowances: On‑call allowance and overtime paid if part of the rotation.

Leave: 17.5% annual leave loading (SCHADS).

Hours: Full‑time, 38 hours/week (business hours) with occasional paid after‑hours coverage.

Requirements

Australian working rights and QLD residency.

Willingness to complete relevant screening checks (e.g., NDIS Worker Screening / Police Check).

Evidence of COVID‑19 and other vaccinations may be required under public health or client mandates.
