About us

We are a team of Gastroenterologists who are seeking an enthusiastic practice manager to join our team.

Our practice offers a convenient hybrid work model, which includes a mix of on-site work and work from home. Our main clinics are located across 2 inner-suburban private hospitals in Melbourne (Moorabbin and St Kilda East).

We provide Gastroenterology care, with a strong patient-centred focus and an emphasis on excellent communication with our patients and referring practitioners.

Hours and days

Part time role

20-25 hours per week. (Days are negotiable)

Option to increase hours as we grow

About you

We encourage applicants with excellent leadership, communication, and practice management skills, who value attention to detail, and who are looking to be part of a developing practice. You will work closely with our wonderful administrative team, who will assist your smooth integration.

Experience with: (1) Practice management, (2) Gentu software, (3) specialist billing software, and (4) Gastroenterology medical terminology will be viewed favourably. An unrestricted right to work within Australia is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring smooth day-day operations (patient triage, bookings, theatre allocation, billings), with troubleshooting and streamlining of processes where required

Compliance evaluation and oversight with regard practice policies, procedures, and day-to-day operations

Liaising with third parties regarding theatre space, and resource allocation

Review of billings, including troubleshooting/management of claims and arrears (in close consultation with our account manager)

Supporting administrative staff, including management of leave and provision of administrative cover when required. This includes, but is not limited to patient care coordination, arranging endoscopy, and coordinating theatre lists

Practice growth and business development

Management of consumables and equipment

Support with future needs analysis, recruitment, on-boarding, and supervision of current staff

Strategic analysis of growth opportunities

GP / other specialist marketing

Preferred skills and experience:

Prior practice management experience

Prior experience working from home

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work autonomously with good time management skills

Must be reliable and punctual

Experience with Private Health Insurance, DVA, and Medicare claims

Adept computer / IT skills - Gentu experience preferred with training provided as needed

Experience with oversight of procedures, policies, and general business management

Adaptability to changing work hours (if required)
