The Opportunity
We are on the lookout for a proactive and highly organised People & Staffing Officer to join our People & Systems team. Based in Melbourne (hybrid work model), this full-time role is essential in ensuring we deliver a well-planned, professional, and reliable workforce across all events and venues.
Reporting to the People & Systems Manager, you’ll play a key role in coordinating our casual staffing operations – from planning and rostering to on-the-ground support during major events. Key Responsibilities
Coordinate staffing needs with departmental leads and develop efficient, cost-effective rosters
Manage casual workforce recruitment, onboarding, shift filling, and attendance tracking
Be on-site during key events to manage staff sign-in/out, distribute uniforms, and ensure smooth team movements
Maintain uniform inventory, oversee returns and replacements
Support training rollouts, induction programs, and staff communications
Participate in post-event reviews and provide input on future workforce planning
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 2 years' experience in staffing coordination or workforce planning in events or hospitality
Strong understanding of casual workforce rostering, award conditions, and compliance
Hands-on experience managing staff logistics in fast-paced environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays (as required by event schedules)
Current Driver’s Licence
Desirable
Experience with venues, stadiums, or festivals
Familiarity with workforce software platforms (e.g., foundU)
Background in hospitality, HR, or event operations
Qualifications in HR, Events, or Business Administration
