To be considered for this contract, you will need to be an Australian citizen and have an NV1 security clearance or higher in place. Contract is due to commence in October 2025.

This Govt agency's Science & Technology branch requires a Robotics Engineering to undertake systems & testing activities as directed by the agency. This will include the test and evaluation of robotics and autonomous system software and/or hardware, both in a laboratory environment and full-scale trials on water.

Key skills requirements include:

Engineering graduates with a tertiary qualification.

Discipline of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, System Engineering or Software Engineering.

Experience and skills in robotics, especially in maritime robotics such as unmanned underwater vehicles, unmanned surface vehicles or towed vehicles.

Skills in data analysis, computer coding and hands-on lab work are required. Specific skills sought here include C++, Python and utilisation of the ROS operating system. Knowledge/experience in ROS 2 would be an advantage.

Desirable skills will include experience with systems simulators such as Anylogic or RAS simulators such as Gazebo.
