The Role

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role plays a critical part in providing accurate financial information to management and supporting strategic financial planning.

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation schedules and asset tracking.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.
• Support external audits by preparing audit schedules and working directly with auditors.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies.
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues and provide recommendations.
• Assist in implementing new accounting standards and system improvements.
• Mentor junior accountants and provide training and oversight as needed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to provide financial insights.
