At Wanderlust Trails, we create walking adventures designed especially for women seeking connection, companionship and a sense of achievement in nature. Our guided hikes and retreats provide safe, welcoming spaces for women to challenge themselves, share stories, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors together.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Hike Lead / Guide Assistant to support our guided day hikes and retreats. You’ll play a key role in delivering memorable experiences by:

Assisting in planning and coordinating hikes and retreats: routes, conditions, logistics, and group management

Guiding groups on the trail: setting pace, ensuring safety, and fostering a supportive atmosphere

Assisting with gear preparation, participant check-ins, and post-event wrap-up

Supporting retreat activities: coordinating sessions, meals, and participant wellbeing

Sharing knowledge of nature, local history, and ethical hiking practices

Acting as a positive role model, helping participants feel confident, included and inspired

What We’re Looking For

Essential

Strong personal hiking experience (multi-day and varied terrain preferred)

Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Good fitness and resilience to handle a range of conditions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — approachable, empathetic, and encouraging

Desirable

Prior guiding or outdoor leadership experience

Knowledge of local flora, fauna, or cultural heritage

Driver’s licence and reliable transport
