The Role
We are looking for a dynamic individual to join the Governance team as a Procurement Support Officer on a Fixed-Term basis until 30 June 2028. This role goes beyond administrative tasks - it's your chance to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and compliance of our organisation. Your talents in data entry, administration, and customer service are highly valued and will be fostered and development. This role reports to the Senior Procurement and Contracting Advisor, and provides exceptional support to tender evaluation panels, showcasing your organisational skills. You'll manage contracts, tender documents, and reporting with precision, that showcases your attention to detail. Plus, you'll engage with both internal and external stakeholders, making a significant impact beyond administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Advice: Offer high-quality advice, information, and assistance to promote best practices in procurement.
- Procurement Activities: Administer and participate in all procurement activities, adhering to the Town's purchasing policy and procedures.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance across all procurement areas.
- Contract Management: Draft standard contracts for procurement activities using up-to-date templates and procedures, with support from the Senior Procurement and Contracting Advisor.
- Supplier Relationships: Maintain effective supplier relationships to ensure successful contractor partnerships.
The successful candidate will be supported and trained in key responsibilities and systems, including relevant processes and tools used across the organisation.

Our ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and excellent at managing time. You should have strong writing and verbal communication skills, along with fast and efficient data entry abilities.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class drivers licence
