The Role
The Town has an exciting officer opportunity in the Statutory Planning team for a motivated planner with a strong foundation in statutory planning. The role involves assessing a range of applications for development and subdivision approval within the Town of Cambridge and providing statutory planning advice to the Town’s customers and stakeholders.

The Town will consider candidates who are newly graduated or experienced planning officers. Salary will be negotiated dependant on suitability for the role.
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate’s core values will mirror the Town’s values of Friendly and helpful, Teamwork, Creativity, Integrity, and Respect, and be able to demonstrate the following:
Previous experience in Town Planning (a minimum of 1 years’ experience).
Demonstrated knowledge of statutory provisions relating to planning, meeting procedures and presentation skills.
Demonstrated statutory town planning, policy development and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to exercise initiative and judgement in the application of well-established methods and procedures.
Demonstrated high-level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills within a customer service environment.
Previous experience in Western Australian local government desirable.
Essential:
Current Western Australian ‘C’ class drivers’ license.
Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline (substantial completion of qualification may be considered).
Right to work in Australia (birth certificate, current passport or current visa)
