Location: Denham, Western Australia
This position is based at Denham in the Shark Bay World Heritage Area which is home to world-class natural attractions including Francois Peron National Park, Dirk Hartog Island National Park, the Shark Bay Marine Park and the proposed Edel Land National Park.
We are currently seeking an Assistant Operations Officer to join our team
Under immediate direction, Assistant Operations Officer:
- Assists with the delivery of conservation, and fire management within the Midwest Region.
- Organises, implements and ensures satisfactory progress of allocated field operations consistent with departmental guidelines, policies and management plans.
- Liaises with departmental personnel and other stakeholders as appropriate, to achieve the implementation of allocated work programs.
This position may be required to operate across all the services within the district or region depending upon the operational needs of the region.

Selection Criteria
- Some knowledge (Level 1) and experience (Level 2) in working in natural land management or a closely related field or a related technical area, with a preference for experience in invasive species management, knowledge of conservation and other land management issues and be able and willing to participate in related manual field activities.
- Broad understanding of the issues involved in planning and implementing works programs.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as part of a team and independently; show a high level of self-motivation, ability and willingness to travel, work away from home and camp when required.
