Swan Canning Waterways Branch plays a pivotal role in the management and protection of the Swan Canning Riverpark, as guided by the Swan and Canning Rivers Management Act 2006 and the Swan Canning River Protection Strategy. The Branch is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Swan Canning Riverpark and the handling of development proposals affecting the Riverpark.
We are currently seeking an Intervention Officer to join our team.
At a professional level and under immediate direction, this position:
- Supports the implementation of projects under the Swan Canning River Protection Strategy;
- Provides technical support and facilitates operation, maintenance, monitoring and evaluation of the Swan Canning oxygenation program and other intervention approaches;
- Provides advice, communicates and negotiates with external stakeholders, consultants/ contractors;
- Applies environmental policies and develops and implements best management practices to address catchment and waterway management issues; and
- Contributes to achievement of outputs, having regard for effectiveness, quality, timeliness, risk and resourcing.

Selection Criteria
- Some experience in the operation (including consideration of risk), maintenance and evaluation of artificial oxygenation or other complex water quality intervention approaches.
- Ability to research, analyse and develop sound recommendations for catchment and waterway issues or water quality intervention approaches.
- Ability to contribute and work to the achievement of outputs, having regard for effectiveness, quality, timeliness, risk and resourcing.
- Ability to interact and offer guidance / support in a team situation to establish working relationships that promote organisational objectives.
