Macquarie University is seeking a strategic and collaborative Lead, Education Systems to ensure the continuity, strategic alignment, and operational effectiveness of the educational technologies that support student learning.

This pivotal role coordinates systems and processes that enable access to learning content, assessment, and feedback-driving innovation and enhancing the student and staff experience.

About the role

As the Lead, Education Systems, you will act as the primary business lead for a suite of educational technologies, including: Moodle, ProLearn, Turnitin, i, Echo360, Accredible, Studiosity, Student Survey systems.

You'll work in close partnership with Faculties, Information Technology, and Digital Transformation teams to develop and execute education technology roadmaps that are innovative, responsive, and aligned with the University's strategic priorities.

You will support the PVC (Education) and DVC (Academic) in meeting regulatory, compliance, and quality assurance obligations.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary business lead for educational technologies, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, operational continuity, and strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement roadmaps and operating plans.
  • Maintain support systems for students and staff, including access management, onboarding, and training resources.
  • Translate governance decisions and strategic direction into actionable guidance for technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design, specification, and maintenance of secure, efficient, and compliant data handling systems.
  • Balance diverse stakeholder priorities, considering the needs of students, academic staff, and others.

  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-level education systems or digital platforms in a complex organisation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of learning management systems and student engagement platforms, including their integration and lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to higher education, including data privacy, accessibility, and academic integrity.
  • Experience in data management practices, including secure handling, storage, and access protocols.
  • Ability to assess system performance, interpret feedback and usage data, and make evidence-based recommendations for improvement.

Desired:

  • Experience in the university or education sector.
  • Qualifications in education, information systems, or a related discipline.
