Balwyn Health Care is a busy long standing family General Practice in a modern facility surrounded by ample onsite and neighbouring parking. We have 9 GP's, 4 nurses and 7 receptionists.
We are currently seeking a part time Medical Receptionist to work 3 days per fortnight, semi regular Sat mornings (approximately 1 in 6), and the ability to OCCASIONALLY cover other receptionists as necessary (may be 1 or 2 extra days per week now and then). At least one of your shifts each week will finish at 7.00 -7.30PM.
PAYRATES:-
Weekdays- The base weekday hourly rate is $32.30 /hr ($39.72/hr when annual leave loading, super etc factored in)
Saturday mornings - The base hourly rate is $48.45 /hr ($57.80/hr when annual leave loading, super etc factored in)
Key Responsibilities
Friendly first point of contact for all patients.
A range of administration and support services to all practitioners (billing, appointments, accounts etc)
A high level of accuracy when recording and maintaining patient, clinic and service information
Ensure that medical or other billing is carried out correctly including batching and transmission for Medicare, Department of Veteran Affairs, Immunisation on a daily basis
Cash management
Administrative tasks
Training provided
About you
To be successful in this role, the right candidate will need to:
Be compassionate and have a caring, have an eye for detail and accuracy, be friendly approach and have a patient-centred focus, be well presented, have a current drivers licence.
Must have current Australian work rights to be eligible for this position.
Flexible to change hours as required to cover shifts as required
Have a calm and considered demeanour when under pressure
Be motivated to learn and want to continue to grow their skill set and experience over time
Preferred Criteria
Previous Medical Reception experience within the healthcare industry
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
Intermediate level computer literacy
Must demonstrate proficiency with general office software applications.
Ability to provide effective customer service in a professional manner
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to take initiative, to follow instructions
Knowledge of medical terminology and health systems (e.g. Medicare) is highly helpful
Previous experience with medical appointment making and billing software considered an advantage
