We are currently seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis (2 days a week). Additional ability to cover leave and sick leave is preferable.

We are an established single-surgeon practice moving to a new location. Well respected in the Mornington Peninsula, the practice offers reconstructive plastic surgery and complex hand and wrist surgery with co-located allied health services. Responsibilities include

Welcoming patients to the clinic and registering new patients

Answering telephone enquiries and working with the surgeon to triage and appropriately book referrals

Scheduling new patient appointments, review appointments, surgical procedures and post-operative appointments

Creating and maintaining accurate medical records including obtaining and linking referrals, test results and diagnostic reports and other information with a high level of accuracy

Generating patient accounts

Preparing for consulting clinics including obtaining referrals and test results

Distributing correspondence

Communication with other clinics and health care providers to facilitate patient care

Essential skills and experience

Commitment to providing high quality patient focussed care with emphasis on communication and empathy

Kindness and professionalism towards immediate colleagues and all members of the broader team involved in any patient's care

Excellent time management skills including the ability to multi-task and follow through on tasks

Previous experience using Medical Practice Software (Genie desirable)
