We’re seeking a qualified and experienced Traffic Management Designer (TMD) to join our growing Melbourne team. You’ll be responsible for producing compliant Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and Traffic Management Plans (TMP) across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely, safe, and effective traffic management delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Design and review TGS and TMPs in accordance with VicRoads Code of Practice and AS1742.3

Liaise with clients to scope job requirements and deliver tailored solutions

Provide alternative treatment options to optimise safety and efficiency

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless job execution

Submit permit applications to councils, Department of Transport (VicRoads), Victoria Police, and other authorities

Conduct risk assessments and uphold safety standards

Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to process improvements

Skills & Qualifications

Current TMD Cat 1 and TMD Cat 2 accreditation required

Experience using CAD or similar design software

Experience in traffic design for construction, civil works, or events

Valid Driver’s Licence

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

High-level administrative and digital literacy

Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
