Reputable Local Council seeking a Design Project Manager on an initial contract with the view to extend.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of design projects across a diverse regional landscape.
Your new organisation
As the Design Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving infrastructure design projects from concept to shovel-ready status. You'll work closely with internal teams, external consultants, and community stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Your new role
Working as a Design Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following below:
- Lead and manage the design phase of infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, buildings, and bridges
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement, permits, and approvals
- Oversee consultant procurement and contract management
- Ensure compliance with OH&S, environmental, and quality standards
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and risk registers
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal and external audiences
What you'll need to succeed
You are a proactive and experienced project manager with a strong background in infrastructure design. You thrive in complex environments and have a proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver outcomes that meet strategic and community needs.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction, or project management (or equivalent experience)
- Extensive experience in municipal infrastructure design and construction
- Strong project and contract management skills
- High-level communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Proficiency in risk management and budget control
