Key responsibilities for the Design Manager:

• Design management: Leading a multidisciplinary design team to deliver the high-quality technical project on time.
• Stakeholder management: Liaising with client, internal and external teams, and construction to ensure alignment and integration of design solutions.
• Cost management: Monitoring and controlling design expenditures using robust tracking systems to optimise budgets and prevent overruns.
• Design governance: Ensuring all deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards through effective QA processes.
• Technical oversight: Directing primary & secondary design, conducting design reviews, and collaborating with external consultants on electrical studies.

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience as a Design Manager on major energy infrastructure projects (HV/EHV substations).
• Primary design engineering experience
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering)
• CPEng or working towards it
• Membership (or eligibility) with a relevant engineering body (e.g. Engineers Australia)
