Burlington Berries is a large independent berry grower in Tasmania using innovative protected cropping technology to produce Strawberries, Raspberries and Blackberries.
The Machinery Supervisor assists in overseeing the machinery department and the maintenance of all horticultural plant, equipment and vehicles. The Machinery Supervisor works with the machinery team, providing guidance, and ensuring operational targets and machinery requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

Perform machinery maintenance

Operate machinery and equipment

Supervise and coordinates employees who operate machines

Prepare work schedules, assigns work and oversees the work

Ensure machine operation is done correctly

Monitor and evaluate production records and reports

Supervise and train team members to ensure work meets maintenance standards and safety protocols

Perform regular inspections, servicing, of machinery and vehicles

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues including identifying faults, replacing parts, and performing necessary repairs

Ensure routine maintenance and servicing of equipment per manufacturer guidelines

Use metal fabrication skills to modify and repair equipment, including brackets, supports, guards, and structural parts.

Utilise various welding techniques to join or repair metal components, ensuring weld quality and structural integrity.

Follow all WH&S regulations, ensuring safe operation and maintenance of equipment and reporting any safety concerns.

Maintain a clean and organized workshop, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.

Competitive salary package $60,001 - $80,000 plus superannuation
