Job Summary:

Supporting Independent Living Co-Operative (SILC) are a NFP seeking dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to provide personalised support with our team for Trelawney House.

Trelawney House Cooperative is located in Eastwood. Our participant is a young man with CP who is dependent for all ADLs. We are looking for proactive, enthusiastic support workers to join us providing supported living in a safe environment where the upmost is being done to ensure the resident remains happy, healthy and comfortable, whilst being actively involved with his family, friends, and community.

Initially offered on a casual basis with potential to become part time carer with our organisation. All of our support workers provide focussed daily care in the home with community access when necessary. You will receive ongoing training and development to help ensure your success.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful support model that combines care with daytime capacity building, community access and independent living support.

Ideally You Will:

Have training /experience in the disability support with a clear understanding of cerebral palsy

Reliable and confident working independently

Be able to undertake domestic tasks as needed

Skilled communicator, being participant-focused working within a close team

Able to support social and community participation

Key Responsibilities may include

Assisting daily living activities including personal care and enteral feeding

Advocate for participants' rights and ensure their needs are met

Provide a calm and reliable presence during overnight shifts

Supporting therapy include hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions

Provide emotional support and companionship

Participate in record keeping and communication with family and support team

Support household duties – laundry, cleaning equipment and tidying

Transport and companion to social outings, community access, and attend appointments

Varied Shifts:

The house operates 7 days a week, with shifts from late afternoon to early evening, occasional sleepovers shifts available.

Requirements:

Current NDIS Workers Clearance or ability to obtain.

Drivers license for NSW would be advantageous

Availability for afternoon shifts Fri-Sun and occasional overnight shifts
