Accounts Payable Officer Location: Newtons Building & Landscape Supplies

Join a growing local business in a key admin role! Newtons Building & Landscape Supplies is looking for an organised, detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our friendly team. This is a varied, hands‑on position ideal for someone with AP experience who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.

The role

Process a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and on time across all company entities

Match invoices to purchase orders and manage direct invoicing workflows

Perform daily AP processing and recording duties for all entities

Reconcile supplier statements and promptly resolve discrepancies

Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date accounts payable records and documentation

Liaise with suppliers regarding payment status, queries and disputes

Manage new supplier onboarding, including supplier details and documentation

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support smooth operations

About you

Proven experience in Accounts Payable and general administration

Experience in construction, trade, building supplies or similar industries is highly regarded

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with accounting systems (MYOB, Xero or equivalent)

Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks

Clear communicator with a customer‑focused and professional approach

Comfortable working as part of a busy team and able to work independently when required
