We are an innovative, family owned, early learning centre located in the heart of Mount Isa. We have embarked on our journey of adventure to provide inspiration, wonder, and delight for all our little friends.

Our Centre is fully equipped with modern resources and a host of learning opportunities for children, creating simulating play spaces for everyone. Our children enjoy their day, within beautiful classrooms, filled with natural light and warmth and many outdoor adventures, in their very own, fully equipped adventure playgrounds.

We are seeking a skilled Cook or Chef, to manage and deliver quality meals to our children.

This role will further enhance our wonderful team of educators and provide healthy nutrition for our kids every day of the week. You will also participate and lead our Mini Masterchef Program.

In this role you will (but not limited to):

Order, plan and prepare nutritional and wholesome food for children;

Work within our philosophy;

Support the Services' nutritional and kitchen hygiene policies;

Interact with children, educators, and families in a positive, sensitive, and respectful manner;

You will maintain an organised safe, hygienic environment at all times;

You will play an active part in creating healthy menus, as well as adapt planned menus to cater for children with allergies, dietary and cultural preferences;

Lead and organise the Mini Masterchef activities for each room, alongside the Lead Educator;

Be organized and manage time effectively.

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a Cook or Kitchen Assistant, ideally within a childcare, aged care or hospitality setting

Relevant food safety and/or food handling qualifications

Sound knowledge of nutrition, food preparation and food safety practices

Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team

Excellent time management skills and attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Remuneration

Above award rates including annual salary reviews;

Flexible working hours;

$1000 sign on bonus paid after the 6 months’ probation period.
